Jordnær Rådgivning wins Nordic project on future industrial investments
How do the planning systems affect the Nordic countries’ ability to attract and retain strategically important industrial companies within, for example, green technology and energy, critical infrastructure and defence?
The Nordic Council of Ministers has asked a strong Nordic consortium with partners from Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark to answer this question. The consortium is led by Norwegian Mennon Economics and Jordnær Rådgivning is the Danish partner. We contribute with our experience within planning, urban development and the link between investments and sustainable land use.
The analysis is intended to support an important political debate during the Danish presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers. In the fase of increased geopolitical competition, it is not only framework conditions and support schemes that determine where companies locate – but also speed, predictability and quality in planning. At the same time, the Nordic planning systems must continue to be able to balance many societal considerations in the future, including considerations of environmental protection and local support.
